Search for possible downed plane called off

Pike County rescue personnel have called off a search for a possible downed plane here.A motorist on Hwy. 19 reported seeing a plane ‘go into the trees’, sheriff Jimmy Thomas reported.The Pike fire department has requested a helicopter for an aerial search, the sheriff added.Battalion 2 chief Lance Blyth has confirmed the search was called off and the initial report was apparently false.
