Second straight year at state for PCHS girls golf

The Pike County High School girls golf team qualified for the state championship for the second consecutive year. They qualified in third place in the Area 1-AAA region behind Columbus and Upson-Lee. They edged out Mary Persons, Thomasville and Jackson for a spot in the state playoffs.

The 2024 GHSA Golf State Championships will be held May 20-21 in 36-hole competitions at golf courses throughout the state. The Pike County girls golf team will face other AAA teams at LaFayette Golf Course. The 2024 PCHS golf team included Katie Ballard, Macey McElwaney, Kerrah Foster, Avery Maddock, Mackenzie Malcolm and Bowen Yarbrough. The top five girls on the team will play in the state championship.
