Sept. 7 concert to feature local talent

Local talent will be on display as Callista Clark and Logan Winkles take the stage during a special concert set for Friday, Sept. 7 at the Pike Auditorium. All proceeds from the show will benefit the school’s wrestling program. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the music starts at 6:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $20 and V.I.P. admission is $30 for the first four rows. Tickets are on sale in the front office of the high school, Ninth Grade Academy, middle school and elementary school. Callista Clark is a 14-year-old singer and songwriter from Zebulon who performs all over the state of Georgia and beyond. She has been playing guitar, singing and performing since she was 6 years old and has recently started playing at larger venues including Eddie’s Attic in Decatur and at the Aug. 24 pre-season game between the Carolina Panthers and the New England Patriots at Bank of America Stadium. She is known for her big voice and emotion-filled songs. She has a large social media following with more than 60 million views on Facebook and more than two million views on Youtube. Her voice has been described as a mix between Adele, Carrie Underwood, and Janis Joplin. She will open for Cody Marlowe Thursday, Sept. 6 at MadLife Stage and Studios in Woodstock. She will perform at the Blues Plate Special at The Alamo in Newnan Saturday, Sept. 15 and at The Local in Nashville on Friday, Sept. 21. Logan Winkles will release his first EP early in 2019 with eight songs. He has been playing at venues across Georgia, including Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, at the Rock the Ridge concert at NorthRidge and Wild Beer Heaven in Atlanta. He plays a mix of country and classic rock as well as his own original songs. He’s been playing guitar for others since he was 16 and only recently became a solo artist. His back up vocalist is his sister, Bryce House. He will play in the Southern As Hell music festival with headliner Blackfoot on Saturday, Sept. 8 in Jonesboro. He is also a football coach for the Pike County High School Pirates.
