Supplies are still needed for the ‘Share It Forward’ Back to School Bash which will be held Saturday, July 27 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the old middle school building on Highway 19. The event is sponsored by the Pike Community Resource Network. It will include inflatables school supplies for families with students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Parents can meet with health providers, fill out I.D. kits for their children and have them take vision screenings. Supplies can be dropped off at the Pike Community Resource Network office at 7450 Highway 19 south in Zebulon. Call 770-567-2930 or email pikecommunityresourcenetwork@gmail.com to set up a drop off time.Supplies needed for the Back to School Bash include book bags (no wheels), Crayola crayons, colored pencils, washable markers, Expo dry erase markers, highlighters, Elmer’s glue sticks, bottles of white Elmer’s glue, No. 2 yellow pencils, large zippered three holed pencil bags, pencil boxes, cap erasers, one-inch white plastic binders, two-inch plastic binders, pocket dividers, 3×5 index cards, white copy paper, composition books, children’s Fiskar scissors, Kleenex tissues, clorox wipes, baby wipes, antibacterial hand sanitizer, pump bottles of waterless hand sanitizer, liquid soap, paper towels, Lysol disinfectant spray, Magic Eraser cleaner and Ziplock bags (snack, sandwich, quart and gallon sizes). Community partners for the ‘Share It Forward’ Back to School Bash include Zebulon and Concord United Methodist churches, Pike County Lions Club, Amerigroup, Prayer Power, American Legion Post 197, Pike County Boys and Girls Club and United Men of Pike.
