Several citizens are stepping up to ensure that local students have the supplies they need when school starts back Tuesday, Aug. 9. The community project is sponsored by Just Because ministries and items from each schools’ supply lists as well as hygiene items and monetary donations are being sought by July 22.
The items can be dropped off at an outside box at the Christ Chapel office at 8945 Highway 19 in Zebulon or at Mustard Seed Life Boutique and Gifts at 7791 Highway 19 south in Zebulon.
Financial donations can be sent through paypal.com @justbecausem or through Cash App at $JustBecausem.
All financial donations will go toward sponsoring a student and any extra supplies will be donated to teachers to distribute throughout the school year as needed.

“There are several ways to get involved, including packing a book bag with the listed items from the desired school (primary/elementary) and/or (middle/high school) or just purchasing some of the items on the lists and donating them,” said Stacy Berry of Just Because Ministries. “We are also accepting hygiene items like shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, hand sanitizer, deodorant, brushes and soap. No donation is too small and they will all go to help our local students in need.”
Supplies needed include bookbags, three-inch binders, notebook paper, pencils, pencil sharpeners, markers, colored pencils, crayons, paper three-prong folders with pockets, glue sticks, scissors, rulers, pencil boxes, composition notebooks, writing tablets, pink erasers, bags of candy, graph paper, eraser caps, three-ring 1.5 inch binders, paper folders with pockets, packs of dividers, blue/black ink pens, index cards, TI-30XS calculators, composition notebooks, pencil sharpeners, binder pencil pouches and hygiene items.
