Tamra “Tammy” Coker Jarrett

June 13, 1959 – May 27, 2022

Mrs. Tamra (Tammy) Coker Jarrett, 62, died Friday, May 27, 2022, at her home in Meansville, GA. Mrs. Jarrett, born June 13, 1959 in Princeton, WV, was the daughter of the late Robert Wesley Coker, Jr. and Marcella Meadows Coker. She was a longtime resident of Pike County.

Mrs. Jarrett worked for many years as a newspaper reporter for the Pike County Journal-Reporter and later served as a county commissioner in Pike County. She was a 1981 graduate of West Virginia University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. She was active in her church and a friend to many in her community. In recent years, she led a caregiver support group for those caring for loved ones with memory loss. She also enjoyed reading, history, outdoor activities, caring for her cats, and celebrating birthdays and holidays with family and friends. She was caring, kind, and will be remembered for her sweet smile.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years Larry Thomas Jarrett; son Wesley Jarrett; daughter Sarah Jarrett Littlebear (David); grandsons Noah, Adam, and Zachary Littlebear; sister Cynthia Bearce; brother Michael Coker (Jana); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

The funeral service for Mrs. Jarrett will be held Wednesday, June 1, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home in Zebulon. Pastor Arianna Eberle will officiate. Family and friends may arrive at 10 a.m. for visitation. Burial will follow at Fincher Memorial Cemetery.Flowers will be accepted; contributions may be made to Zebulon United Methodist Church or Concord United Methodist Church.

Moody-Daniel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
