Tax bills have started arriving at homes across Pike County. They are due Dec. 27 and a few residents have already started paying. Property taxes increased by just over 3 mills in the county this year. Pike County property taxes will collect $5,536,860.38 for the county maintenance and operation costs and $5,886,828.84 for the school M&O in addition to $1,067,312.45 for the school bond. ’It was an increase in taxes, so most people are going to be upset with the increase in costs,’ said Tax Commissioner Donna Wynn. ‘Anyone who needs answers about their tax bill can call me. I don’t set the millage rate and I don’t set the value, but I am the collector and I can direct anyone with questions to where they need to go.”
