The Blue Witch of Hagan’s Mountain

Pike County High School senior Styrlin Rowland wrote and directed his first play, the Blue Witch of Hagan’s Mountain, under the direction of PCHS theater teacher Lori Bush.

“It has been such a joy watching the students collaborate on a completely original story! Styrlin was of course the mastermind behind the vision, and he has worked tirelessly to bring this story to life,” she said. “However, he truly enjoyed hearing input and creative ideas from the cast, and he wanted each actor to take his original ideas and make them their own. The result is the confidence that comes from complete ownership of the project and it’s shared success. I could not be more proud of this extraordinary group of students!”

The crew included choreographer Kimberly Badgett, stage manager Mya Odom, assistant stage manager Kylie Brown, Noah Hunsucker on sound, Essence Dunlap on lights, master carpenter Brian Bush, set design by Styrlin Rowland and set construction by Brian and Lori Bush.

The cast included Katie Governo as Edith, Bryson Postell as Jack, Liam Potter as Mr. Hackford, Annabella Collins as Mrs. Hackford, Timmy Walker as Mr. Giggins, Weston Pitts as Preacher, Mallory Miller as Mrs. Rosehill, Summer Godwin as Mrs. Campbell, Kathryn Cotter as Robert, Tatym Brown as Ginny, Shaun Emery as Andrew, Ashleigh Poss as Sam, Sophie Thomas as a churchgoer and Mountain Spirit and Mountain Spirits Miranda McIntyre, Courtney Allen, Ann Peaden, Audrey Hanson, Kallie Ayers and Bethany Berner.
