Thomas “Tommy” J. Mayfield age 79 of Molena, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
Tommy was born in Williamson, Georgia on November 1, 1942. He is preceded in death by his parents, Malvin and Dorothy Mayfield, son, David Mayfield, first wife, Marcia Harp Mayfield, sister, Louise Mayfield Maddox, and sister-in-law, Mary Harp Reid. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Hapeville. Tommy loved his family and prayed for them daily. He was a man of God who loved the Lord and loved reading his Bible. Tommy loved Georgia Bulldogs football, the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, and NASCAR.
He is survived by his present wife, Emma Archer Smoot Mayfield; daughter, Melissa Cato and husband, Tim; granddaughter, Jessica Cato; great grandchildren, Jassiah Cato, Jayden Cato; siblings, Larry Mayfield, Gene (Connie) Mayfield, Jeanette Bunn; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation was Friday, September 23, 2022 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service followed in the chapel, officiated by Pastors James Wilson and Charles Johnson. Interment followed at Westwood Gardens. Following the burial, the family invited family and friends to the Family Center at Conner-Westbury for food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Tommy to Rehoboth Church of the Nazarene, 976 Kings Rd, Molena, Georgia, 30258.
