A tragic fire in the early morning hours of Nov. 13 took the lives of two young twin girls just a day after their first birthdays. The fire was reported around 3:25 a.m. and by 4 a.m., the fire was extinguished.
“We are saddened at the loss of two young lives. Sheriff Thomas and staff would like to convey our thoughts and prayers for the family during this difficult time,” said Maj. David Neal. “We are also thankful for all the emergency personnel who responded and the efforts put forth by them during this tragic event.”
According to the Pike County Fire Department, the fire at 347 Short Cut Road was thought to be accidental. A full investigative reported is ongoing.
Logan Bennett is the older sister of the twins and she created a gofundme.com account to help with the family.
“These two sweet babies just turned 1 on Nov. 12 and they are so loved and missed dearly,” she said. “Anything will help us as we go through this time. Thank you so much for the kindness from the depths of our hearts.”
