Victim in fatal Concord crash identified

A one-vehicle wreck in Concord resulted in a fatality around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. A Pontiac Sunbird flipped on its roof in the grass next to a gazebo at the waking path in downtown Concord. Sgt. Shannon Moulton of the Pike sheriff’s office identified the victim as Brenda Gail Nalley, 54. Nalley’s residence is on Hwy. 92 in Spalding County. She was the only passenger in the car, according to Pike sheriff Jimmy Thomas. Sgt. Moulton reported his investigation of the bizarre crash scene is ongoing and authorities are still trying to determine if any other vehicles were involved. Concord Mayor Sonny Story saw the aftermath of the wreck. “It’s sad, it’s terribly sad,” he said. More on this story as it develops.
