WestCare withdraws request for rehab center

According to planning and zoning administrator David Allen, WestCare Georgia and the Shri Ram Chandra Mission formally cancelled their special exception request to allow for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for teen boys at 5611 Highway 109 west on Feb. 8. The WestCare Georgia application will no longer be considered by the Pike board of commissioners since the application was withdrawn. The Shri Ram Chandra Mission consists of 32.5 acres with 730 feet of frontage along Highway 109.
