Westminster sweeps Pike out of postseason again

The Westminster Wildcats knocked the previously top-ranked Pike Pirates out of the baseball playoffs Thursday. The same team ended Pike’s run into the football playoffs last fall. The visitors took both ends of a doubleheader at Pilkenton Field here. The Pirates fell 9-8 in the opener. Daniel Fioreanti took the loss. Westminster got a walk-off homer in the last inning of game two to take a 5-3 win. Colby Ralston took the loss for Pike. The upset sweep by Westminster brought an abrupt end to what had been a highly successful season for the Pirates.
