A 19-year-old Williamson woman is among three young people charged in connection with the death of a Barnesville man who was found dead in his bed Wednesday after a Tuesday night party at his home. Thursday coverage from barnesville.com: Three arrests have been made in connection with the death of 19-year-old Ryan Lovick here Wednesday. Those arrested are Elbert Tyler Horton, Jessica Amanda Casteel and Katherine Noelle Nordan. Nordan, 21, and Horton, 21, are from Griffin. Casteel, 19, is from Williamson. They are charged with abandonment of a dead body and were placed under $2000 bond by chief magistrate William Thomas. ”This is all about decisions. If you expect better outcomes, make better decisions,” the judge told the trio. An autopsy on Lovick was set for Thursday. “‘This is an ongoing investigation and our investigators are awaiting results from the GBI crime lab,’ sheriff Brad White said. There are indications some of the revelers at a Tuesday night party at Lovick’s home were making and ingesting a street drug called ‘Lean’ which is made up of prescription cough syrup, Sprite and Jolly Rancher candy. Emergency personnel were dispatched. The address is east of the highway’s intersection with Jones Road. Coroner Jim Smith has now confirmed the dead teen is Ryan Lovick and reports his birthdate would make him 19 as originally reported. UPDATE: At 5:45 p.m., sheriff’s investigators confirmed a male was found dead at the residence. Tax records indicate the property is owned by Susan E. Lovick. At 6:20 p.m., coroner Jim Smith reported authorities were backing out of the house awaiting the issuance of a search warrant for the premises and the arrival of GBI personnel. He said there were reports of a party there Tuesday night. Smith said the teen’s body will be transported to the state crime lab by Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A neighbor reported the woman, his cousin, came home and found the teen dead in the bed. Multiple Facebook postings on a page belonging to Ryan Lovick are identifying him as the dead man though his Facebook data lists him as being 20 not 19. Ryan Lovick was an LCCHS grad, played baseball there and went on to play baseball at Emmanuel College. UPDATE: At 8:20 p.m., the coroner confirmed the body had been identified as that of Ryan Lovick. His listed birthdate is August 23, 1993. Smith said there were no wounds on the body and the crime lab will do toxicology testing. UPDATE: Just before 9 p.m., sheriff Brad White reported veteran GBI crime scene specialist Todd Crosby was on the scene. Crosby has documented a number of crime scenes in high profile, local death cases.
