Blount Construction recently notified the county that Oct. 5 will be the tentative start date for construction on Williamson-Zebulon Road, weather permitting.’We will begin advertising the construction alerts with digital signage starting Sept. 25 to notify the public of the start date and traffic delays,’ said county manager John Hanson. ‘We will use this signage throughout the project. We will limit traffic on Williamson Zebulon to local traffic only.’Digital signs will be placed on Williamson- Zebulon Road at the Reidsboro Road intersection and the County Farm Road intersection. The detours will be through Reidsboro Road to Zebulon-Hollonville Road to Highway 18 for southbound traffic and from County Farm Road to Highway 18 to Zebulon-Hollonville Road to Reidsboro Road for north bound traffic. ’This will be extensive construction work and the public should expect long delays on this route. This project will take approximately two and a half weeks,’ said Hanson. ‘We have positioned the project to encompass the week that school is out – Oct 12-16 – in effort to lessen the pressure on local traffic for at least 5 days of the project.’
