Winford Vaughn

Mr. Winford Vaughn passed away on May 22, 2024 at the age of 90. He was born on Caldwell
Road in the 2 nd district of Pike County, GA on November 18, 1933.

Mr. Vaughn was one of 11 children and the son of Charlie and Ozella Tolen Vaughn. He was
preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Patsy Howard Vaughn, brothers and sisters-in-law,
Harold and Jerlene Vaughn, Alton and Katherine Vaughn, brothers, Willard Vaughn and
Junious Vaughn, brothers-in-law, Gray Pinson, Gary Chasteen, Bobby Donehoo, sisters and
brothers-in-law, Doris and Harris Perkins, Kathleen and George Evans, sister-in-law, Marie

Mr. Vaughn is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Rodney Middlebrooks,
granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Amanda and Chad Shockley; brother, Charlie Vaughn;
sisters, Molly Pinson, Hazel Chasteen, Carol Donehoo; sister-in-law, Pat Howard and Susie P.
Shaw who always called him Pop. Mr. Vaughn had many nieces and nephews whom he loved
very much.

Mr. Vaughn was a master carpenter by trade and an avid gardener after retirement. He and his
wife sold produce from his garden for many years and Mr. Vaughn was best known for his
delicious home-grown tomatoes and for being a perfectionist at everything he put his hand to.
There will be a memorial service for Mr. Vaughn on June 2, 2024 at 3:00 pm at New Hope
Baptist Church, 4920 New Hope Road, Zebulon, GA. Friends may visit the family from 2:00
pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
