A 23-year-old woman was lifeflighted to Grady Hospital in Atlanta September 2 after losing control of her vehicle and striking the entrance to the Masonic Lodge. A three-year-old child in the car was also injured.Zebulon police chief Bob Lummus identified the driver of the vehicle as Samantha Ragusa. Ragusa was southbound on Hwy 19, ran the stoplight at the intersection of Hwy. 18 and hit the Masonic Lodge entrance on the side of the Pike Agency building at about 8:30 p.m. Investigators theorize Ragusa had some sort of seizure or other medical problem that caused the crash.The child also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, Lummus said.
