Wreck on Highway 19 snarls school traffic

A life flight helicopter landed in front of the primary school around 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 after a two-vehicle wreck in which one car appeared to be turning into the primary school pick up line. The driver of the vehicle was life flighted from the scene of the wreck to Atlanta Medical Center after Pike County Fire Department volunteers used extrication tools to cut the vehicle open. Others who were involved in the wreck were transported to Upson Regional Medical Center. Check back for more details as they become available.
