The Pike County High School wrestling team ended its season over the weekend by placing eighth in the state at the Traditional State Meet in Macon.
The team ended up with five placers, including Gage Lee who was a state runner-up. Ayden Stanley finished fourth and Owen Hammett, Luke Woerner and Jakilen King all finished fifth. Jack Barron went 2-2 at state.
The team finished the season fifth in the state in the State Duals, Area Traditional and Dual Champions and they placed in various tournaments during the season.
Gage Lee and Luke Woerner became the first four-time state qualifiers in school history. Jakilen King and Gage Lee became the part of a group of three to be three-time state placers.
The team qualified more people for the State Traditional meet than any other team in AAA.
