ZPD earns honors for DUI arrests

The Zebulon Police Department was honored recently by the Georgia Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) as well as Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) on June 15.

“The Zebulon Police Department fights diligently to keep our citizens as well as the citizens traveling the roadways through our city safe and in 2021 that was no different,” said ZPD’s Michael Johnson.

In the category of less than 10 officers in the department, the Zebulon Police Department as a whole was awarded third place in the entire state of Georgia for the most DUI arrests with 64 arrests.

Officer Mitchell Brooks was awarded third place in the entire state of Georgia with his individual achievement of 37 DUI arrests.

“We hope to continue to keep you all safe and achieve the first place honors for 2022,” said Johnson. “Please, if you are of age and decide to drink, stay where you are or have a sober driver, do not put yourself and others lives at stake by driving. Thank you officer Mitchell Brooks and all of the officers of the Zebulon Police Department for all of your hard work and diligence! ‘Never Quit’”

Jonathan Hemphill should not be involved in police work at all. People like him make citizens mistrust the police. This will end badly; there is a million stories on the internet about people like him deteriorating departments until in the end there is some kind of tradgedy.
