Lighthouse owner charged with arson

The state fire marshal’s office is reporting the owner of the Lighthouse Restuarant has been charged with arson in connection with a devastating fire there last month. Stephen Brehaut, 37, faces one count of arson in connection with the July 10 fire, according to Glenn Allen of insurance commissioner Ralph Hudgens’ office. Allen described Brehaut as “owner” of the restaurant. According to Major Brad White of the LCSO, Brehaut resides at 440 Trice Rd. in Milner. ”Evidence indicated that he intentionally caused the fire destruction at the Lighthouse Restaurant. The arrest came after four weeks of intensive investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office,” White said. More to follow.
