COVID cases fall to 2; flu cases climb

The number of confirmed COVID cases dropped to two cases in the past two weeks, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. While COVID cases are low, flu activity is growing in Georgia – earlier than in recent years.

The number of COVID deaths stayed at 81 as did probable deaths at 25. Hospitalizations rose from 217 to 218. 

As of Oct. 15, flu- related hospitalizations rose from 35 to 77 from the previous week and one flu-related death was recorded.

To find a location for the flu and COVID vaccine, go to vaccines.gov/find-vaccines/. Flu vaccine can be given at the same time as COVID vaccine.
